Scientific conference launched in Tehran
TEHRAN - The conference on inventors and innovators of the country's scientific Basij was kicked off in Tehran on Monday at Azad University headquarters.
A range of guests were in attendance among whom were Chancellor of the Islamic Azad University Farhad Rahbar, the head of science, research and technology Basij Organization Hossein Qadiani, as well as many students and professors.
The conference launched just a few days shy of the Sacred Defense Week- an Iranian annual commemoration of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.
Delivering a speech before the audience, the chancellor of the Azad University noted that through acquiring scientific fields, the Islamic Republic has gained more power and “authority”.
Remembering the war veterans of Iran-Iraq war, Rahbar said Iran battled empty handed against the world infidels during the imposed war on Iran.
Back then, he said, the secret of Iran’s success in the war was the “Basiji or unified thinking model.” Today, he added, Iran continues to apply the same pattern to fight disbelievers in defense of the holy shrine, in Syria.
He called science an instrument of domination in the hands of imperialism that seeks to monopolize the scientific progress of other countries.
“Science is a tool of domination and the arrogance power wants to keep it exclusively to itself.”
Rahbar also said to help humanity, knowledge and faith should go hand in hand, as one won’t survive without the other.
During the conference two inventions were also unveiled.
